Dr. Rajdeep Roy is an orthopaedic surgeon and public representative serving as the Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from the Silchar Assembly Constituency. Before entering full-time public life, he spent many years practicing medicine, earning the trust of patients through compassionate care and professional excellence.
He completed his MBBS from Silchar Medical College, followed by an M.S. in Orthopaedics from Assam Medical College. He later obtained an M.Ch. (Orthopaedics) from Ninewells Medical School, University of Dundee, United Kingdom, further strengthening his medical expertise before returning to serve the people of his hometown.
Dr. Roy comes from a family with a long tradition of public service. He is the son of Late Bimolangshu Roy, a respected senior advocate, veteran BJP leader, and former MLA of the Silchar Assembly Constituency, who represented the constituency from 1996 to 2006.
Today, Dr. Rajdeep Roy continues his public service as the elected representative of Silchar, working towards better healthcare, quality education, improved infrastructure, youth empowerment, and responsive governance for the people of the constituency.
